DL has blasted us with a huge assault that is almost unsurvivable. So many new interviews it is no match for the ordinary man. Thankfully I am not that LOL.

Any how, here is the Deal. Make that THE DEAL.

New interviews with The Temptations and Four Tops. Check. New interviews with Korn and Rage Against The Machine. Check. New interviews with Craig Shoemaker the comedian. Check. New interviews are at his page at Hawaii Public Radio, and also can be found in DL’s Blog, and there is of course the official Facebook page for Dave, the Facebook DLTVfanpage site. Check. Lotta goods on that one on the wall. Also classic interview player is August issue with John Waite (I heard it when it was live, fellow soldiers. Don’t miss this f-ing gem. John plays along with DL and does the best 420 bit ever live on the air, with so much enthusiasm. Cocky like a Marine should be. Did I just say that LOL. Real demonstration of why Dave was so creative and still not even touched on the air in Hawaii). More than the soldiers and sailors of the US Armed Forces loved DL and this months classic interview is a classic example of why he ruled the stoner crowd and younger set too.

Commander Cyclops & the whole DL ARMY saying our respects to 1st Lt. Michael L. Runyan, 24; died July 21 in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his convoy vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Muqdadiyah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 52nd Infantry, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

DL has part two in the Classic Interview Player series of two year anniversary issues. Last month it was Michael McDonald, who was also a Maui resident – Kama’aina in the H-H-House. Also heard some of that on Hawaii public radio but nice to get the full dealio.

NOW: John Waite. I remember when DL first had this thing on the first time he did the Classic interview player. It took me a few months to realize what a cool thing it is to be able to relive classic DL interviews with huge artists of all walks of life. John Waite was followed by many more from the archives and brand new ones began to be part of the mix, making it even more exciting. You never know what is coming next. John Waite was the first one ever to be featured in this way, a Dave Lawrence interview you may have heard in Honolulu (back when there was a rock station in Hawaii), and now you can hear online, for a month at a time. Some months it is a new interview, some times it is a real classic, going back decades… This year alone has been great: Michael McDonald, Ronnie James Dio, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, and new ones from Jack Johnson, Al Green, and starting off the year, Bruce Springsteen character Nils Lofgren.

Also thought the cool 4:20 theme of the interview was worth noting. Those were the days.

Tower Of Power laid down the funk at the Blaisdell Concert Hall, and the band only mentioned one radio station, Hawaii Public Radio. HA HA HA! Go get ‘em Davey Boy. No prisoners my friends. Pocket the scalps and leave the carnage behind.

Also: DL apparently recorded another long interview with the band when they were in town… SICKNESS IS GOOD.
